Loading the reaction-time tester…
I’m on the accursed hellsite: x.com/marcelrgoto
Quick Start
The default settings are Single Button mode, 20 trials, Automatic log-MAD for excluding outliers, and Leverless.
- Connect your controller.
- Choose the SF6 button to test. When the binding window opens, press the corresponding controller input twice.
- Change Controller type if you are not using a leverless controller.
- For a direction (UP, DOWN, LEFT, or RIGHT), select the appropriate Directional input.
- Select the Mechanism and Finger, or leave either as – if unknown.
- Click Begin, or press the controller’s Start button.
- After the three-second countdown, wait for the color to change and press the selected button as quickly as possible.
When the run ends, review the distribution graph and statistics. Press Save to preserve an unfinished or unlimited run. Press Reset, or the controller’s Back button, to abandon the current run without saving.
For full controller mode, I suggest trying it with only 2 or 3 buttons binded, for example LP, MP and HP, and 5 trials per button.
Glossary
Run: A complete testing session. A run contains multiple trials and ends when the requested number of trials is completed or when the user saves or resets it.
Trial: A single reaction-time measurement. It begins after the countdown, includes a random waiting interval, and ends when the user presses the selected controller input after the cue appears.
False start: Pressing the selected input before the cue appears. The attempt is recorded as a false start, but not as a completed trial.
Excluded trial: A trial identified as an outlier. It remains in the saved data but is not used to calculate the run’s mean, median, spread, or standard deviation.
